While the government has waived the official ETA fee for Indians, travelers are still required to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online before departure. Your service charge covers the professional handling of the portal and mandatory digital arrival forms.

Mandatory Document Checklist (2026 Update)

Even with a free visa, Sri Lanka immigration is strict about entry documentation. Missing the digital arrival card can result in long delays at the airport.

  • Identity: Passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival.

     

  • ETA Approval: A printed or digital copy of the “Visa Issuance Notice.”

  • Digital Arrival Card: Mandatory online registration form that must be completed within 72 hours of arrival.

  • Financial Proof: Proof of sufficient funds (approx. $30 USD per day / ₹2,500 per day). Bank statements or credit card limits are accepted.

     

  • Travel Documents: Confirmed return or onward flight ticket and proof of accommodation (hotel booking).

     

  • For Business: A formal invitation letter from the Sri Lankan company and a covering letter from the Indian organization.
