Saudi Employment Visa (Iqama) Procedure, Step by Step
A Saudi work visa follows a fixed order. First, your job title decides which checks you need. Then the wakala, MOFA number and medical come next. Finally, we submit your passport for stamping.
Step 1: Check your job title and category
Your visa is issued for one specific job title. The employer can only offer titles approved for their business. For example, a tailoring shop can sponsor only a tailor. So confirm the exact title on your visa before anything else.
Labour
No certificate or cross-checking is needed. You can move straight to the wakala and medical steps.
Skilled workers and technicians
A skills test is compulsory under the Skill Verification Program (SVP). Tests are held at centres in Mumbai and Delhi.
Professionals
Your degree or diploma must be apostilled. You must also pre-register your certificates on QVP (US$93). Engineers also register with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
